Hey guys does anyone know where to purchase a new voltage limiter for my 73 rallye instrument panel. I tried locally here and through Year 1 and nobody has any. Any hints where to find one would be greatly appreciated.
This is the unit that controls the voltage to the gas , temperature and oil gauges.

I replaced the voltage limiter and still no activity on the gauges. RTE indicates the following on their website: There are several different failure modes that a limiter can have:
•If the limiter loses its ground (from corrosion for example) then there will be no current flowing in the nichrome wire, and the limiter will output +12V all tht time. The FOT gauges cannot tolerate this condition for more than about 20 seconds, and will burn out after about 20 seconds. •If the nichrome wire burns in half or breaks due to mechanical vibrations, then the points will no longer open and the gauges will fry after 20 seconds. •If the points weld themselves shut, then the points will no longer open and the gauges will fry after 20 seconds. •If the output of the limiter is shorted to ground, then either the fuse to the instrument panel will open, or we have seen some limiters that had the bi-metallic strip burned in half. In this case the gauges won't be fried, but they will stop working until the limiter is replaced.
Has anyone had this problem....that is when the original limiter failed it fried the gauges. Is there maybe another fault/problem I am not aware of?

not personally, but yes, they fail in that way.
if you want to check for gages still working or not, feed the studs with a 9 volts batt for couple of seconds... needle will move.
remember, not more than 2 or 3 seconds

I tested the gauges and they work using the 9 v battery test. However the new voltage limiter does not cure the problem. I'm suspecting the unit is defective as I have power to it but no power out of it. I have a replacement one on order.

Well it was a faulty Limiter as the new one works and everything is good to go.
