What I'm wondering about is what would chaning the cam have to do with throwing a rod? Unless he ment that it messed up a push rod, but normaly when someone says a "rod" they mean a conecting rod..... I don't know. Also, what's with the big ol tach? Anyway, looks like a nice project. I'm not much on colum shifters though.... As for the top, it very well could be factory, I myself, am still learning about these 3rd gen cars..... My '72 is a full vinyl SE car...

That top is kind of funky. I definitely have never seen one like it before. I would not be surprised if the top is a homemade deal. As far as the cam/rods thing, maybe he means the lifters. They are supposed to be replaced with the cam.

First time I seen one of those like that too. Might have been a dealer thing too.

that's easy to check... if was available that molding should be posted on a 72 Parts catalog and diagrams, even for a dealer mounted, any month edition or at least on last year edition, what I think is April. Honestly, I don't think about that. sport top ? weird name for a "luxury" option and desing, like Landaus on other brands. IMHO I would think about canopy roof more like a "sport" top. however we never known with Ma Mopar

its seems like we are not quite sure? i know im not. it kinda reminds me of the topper roof treatment (isnt that where you dont get a full vinly?) but the "other" way? i wont rule this one out but i wont say for sure its factory.

I looked at my 72 parts CD and saw nothing for the roof molding that would have been required for that. The cd does include final revisions. I tend to believe that it is not original. I think whoever put that steering wheel on the car #PointAndLaugh# did the vinyl top revisions.

No such thing. All 72 SE's had full vinyl tops.
