Wow, those worked out great Tom. You must be very pleased. Yes, I am happy. Happy that the covers are not "junk" and in need of major surgery. Happy that my installation was not the issue. Really happy that it was all fixed for $60 instead of $400 more. I guess as always, things have a learning curve. The first set of Legendary covers I put on (15 years ago) were not saggy...so I had no expectation to think these would be. And as saggy as they were, I had little hope that a quick steaming would tighten them up as much as it did. Next time....I will again cover them myself, with sags and all....and have the upholstery shop give them a final steam treatment.

I know this is an old thread, but my similar situation is recent. Let me say also, I do not like bashing but I am simply going to explain what happened. The conclusions you get out of it are your own. I had read this thread started by Tom and for THIS reason, I decided NOT to try the cover install myself. First let me say, I installed the covers on my 67 from Legendary. Were they perfect from Legendary, no ... but other than me, no one else would ever be able to tell, because I fixed the issues. But the 73 looked more involved, and then this thread ... let me take them somewhere. Well, that turned out to be an excellent decision. As the covers were not very good quality in my upholsterers opinion. They are thin, and as in Tom's situation, not sewn correctly. 2 buttons fell off and he had to make them. The covers still had the marks on them where they drew the lines to install the buttons and took a great deal of effort to remove. Now let me say this first; I had a friend that bought covers for his 66 Charger and had issues. Upon contacting Legendary, they really didn't want to hear it. Try this, or buy that. Just keep throwing money at it, is their solution. Well it was the same here. I contacted them and while they were very understanding on the phone, they asked for pictures which were sent. Their reply is as follows (copied and pasted from the e-mail!!!!): HI, THE TECH LOOKED AT YOUR PHOT'S AND THIS IS HIS REPLY. I AM GOING TO GET BUTTONS OUT TO YOU ASAP. LOOKS LIKE HE NEEDS TO BUILD UP FOAM KIT OR PURCHASE A NEW FOAM KIT SOLD BY P&G CLASSICS IN CANADA. ALSO LOOKS LIKE WE NEED TO SEND HIM BUTTONS. The foam is not that old. It was replaced by the PO, I'm changing the color. And what am I supposed to do with buttons? Unless I know how to sew, they're useless to me. I spent hundreds of dollars with them expecting perfect seats and I got this. I had to pay EXTRA to get them installed and look decent ... not perfect. If I had been doing them myself, the neighbors would have heard my screaming! I have various other items for this car I was shopping for and Legendary was on the list to get prices. Needless to say they will be reconsidered. They're customer service hasn't been helpful so far. We'll see where it goes with my next communication with them. Thanks for the time!

Bob, I think the "you need new foam" response is the "industry standard" response when a person gets poorly fitting covers. next time, I am going with some "old skool" Zebra seat covers from Pep Boys or JC Whitney. On a serious note.....Customer service in general is a hit or miss proposition. I believe that it might help your cause if you speak to the "right person" at Legendary. My suggestion would be to contact this guy..... Eric DeTaeye, Public Relations Director 1800 363-8804 ext 203/ edetaeye@legendaryautointeriors.com He seems to occasionally post on forums....and handle "issues"

Thank You Tom. I did forward the e-mails to him just now. And thank you for this thread. As mentioned, if not for reading this, I may have tried this myself. And that would not have been pretty. I guess all I'm saying is I don't feel I got my money's worth. I don't mind paying a rediculous amount for an item, but it better be all I expect. Thanks again.

All right, update. After forwarding e-mails per Tom's suggestion, I got a phone call right away this morning. Apparently that shook a cage. It was the "tech" on the covers. His name is Ron. He STILL suggests having the foam done, if nothing more. He did offer to do it, but at a cost naturally. He also said they will shrink a bit more in the sun. I asked about the buttons, and he said they would fully warranty any further that come apart. My next step is to put them outside in the sun and humidity and see if they look any better. I will keep you informed.
