I was thinking of putting a tach in my car and was wondering if anyone sells a vintage or seventy's era looking tach. (new)
(I'm looking for like a three inch round column mount)

Oh, goody, my chance to pay you back for chasing down all that Cragar info for me!! I think I actually have exactly what you're looking for...like everything else I promise, you just have to be patient... I have one that is about 2-3/4 to 3" face, with a knob through the face that allows you to preset the red shift needle, and (I think) kind of a slightly-bowed pedestal on it, designed to radiator-hose clamp (muffler clamp) it to a steering column! At least that's how I had it mounted on my 79 Ford F-150 beach racin' 4x4 back (WAAAAAY BACK) in the day! I'll try to dig it out (or at least keep an eye out for that box as I'm bringing them to the house and unpacking them)....still haven't got Brocks dash cluster yet. (My Bad). Of course, it goes without saying that it is completely analog...nothing digital, LED, or "electronic/avionic" about it!! Keep reminding me.... or, else....UUD LOOZ !!!AWHR-HAWR-HAWR-HAWR!! Jer.

ME NO SPEAK ELECTRICAL, NACHO !! NO COMPRENDO WIRES!! NO COMPRENDO CIRCUITS!! NO COMPRENDO SCHEMATICS!! SOY UN MENSO! How am I supposed to know what an autometer is, Nacho...I have trouble following the diagram to my bathroom!! Remember that when you start thinking about me driving you across a 3000 mile long country,
my Shaggin' Wagon Roadmate Buddy!! Besides, just like me, my tach is an original, vintage model....not a reproduction!!! ;D ;D

I DO like your Tach, though, Nacho...mine has two little pedestal legs (feet), one to the front, one to the rear, so it actually takes two clamps to secure it....how would you mount that one you bought?...the opening on the base is front to back, not side to side....
Would you disassemble it and actually screw the base into the column?

still dunno, haven't got in hands yet... supposelly I should have all my stuff tomorrow ( I don't think will be tomorrow really either )
I think will mount on column but not just right in front... better at a side, toward to A/C controls side. Is an auto car, don really need to monitor everytime.
OR will use the console last woodgrain insert screw to attach.
Everything depends of how deep is the tach and in what collar of column can I mount. I was in fact trying to fit on back of the last column collar, on column itself, but that will be really hard. Not enough room there
Still dunno, I would have preffered a SMALLER one, but that was the only one available on 31 dec at that price and meetings with my requirements ( small, pedestal, not "fancy", pretty much basic and 8K Rpms. )
also did like the idea of the classy hood mounted one... but neither find one or was sure to open a hole on my virginal untouched 74 bulged hood
