I will reload the missing pictures later. I used to use imageshack for picture hosting but they are not free anymore. Taking me a little getting used to photobucket.

One more way to possibly differentiate 71 from 72-74 seats. The backside of a 71 headrest has an open seam like this... 72-74 has fully sewn up seam like this...

I also noticed that the listing wires on a 71 cover are different lengths than on 72-74 cover. You can see the differences in the length of the slots cut in the foam. So, I definitely think anyone thinking of putting 71 covers on a 72-74 seat should "think again" There are so many difference, that I don't think you can do it and achieve good results.

That's a whole lotta work you went through, Tom, just to edge-u-ma-cate us ignorants....but I do appreciate it.. I also hope--with all of my heart--that NONE of that applies to putting 71 split bench w/armrest covers on a 72 split bench w/ armrest seat....I hope, I hope !!!

That's a whole lotta work you went through, Tom, just to edge-u-ma-cate us ignorants....but I do appreciate it.. Over the years, I have seen a lot of questions about bucket seats, with even more incorrect answers. I wanted to document differences and pin them down to specific years. With this info, a person looking for 71 seats like I was, can spot them easily. When you think about it.....the 71.5 seats are probably a little hard to find. They are not even a "one year" part! I was lucky enough to find mine for $150 plus shipping
