My first car was a 1973 Chevy Nova . It was about 14 years old when my parents let me have it . It had the straight 6 that you could not kill . Bench seat column and black houndstooth interior .
The first car that I bought for myself was a 1968 charger 318 car . It was automatic and had bucket seats ,console ,red with black interior . Dad took back the Nova and used it as his commuter car .
The first time I learn how to drive a stick was a friends Volkswagen Beetle . The first manual transmission car that I owned was a circa 80s, beat down Audi Quattro . What a hunk of junk .
My very first and likely the very last NEW car purchase was a 2001 PT Cruiser. It had a manual transmission . A great car with all the bells and whistles . It was just painfully slow . There's nothing wrong with a new car . It's just more economical to buy an almost new car .
What are your firsts related to cars?

My first car was a 72 Charger. Rallye dash and hideaway headlights were it's only options of significance. Never had a stick shift car until I bought a Dodge Shadow in 2000. I basically taught myself how to drive a stick, on customer cars, when I first started working as a mechanic. (1997) The first few test drives were exciting. I have never bought a new vehicle. Last time I set foot in a new car dealership, looking to buy, was around 1989. I simply don't see any value in buying something new. Plus you never know what's going to be problematic when buying new. I prefer to know what I am getting, pay cash, and drive them into the ground. Currently, I put about 60k miles a year on my vehicle. Up until 2000, I had never paid more than $900 for a car.

1949 International KB-3, followed shortly after with a 1964 Dodge Polara. Keep in mind this was right around 2000-2001. It got alot of looks going to high school in those old cars. Lots of fun.

1973 Charger. 318 auto. Swapped it out for a 400. Got it in 1991. Always wanted a 69 Charger but could never afford it in high school. Dad had a 70 Challenger in the day and always wanted me to buy one. The first car we looked at was a 1972 Challenger that we should have bought. Never realized how good it was till we looked at lots of junk after it. Oh well. Wasn't meant to be. Here is a photo of my 73.

My "first" car was a '74 monte carlo 454 when I was 14. My uncle bought it new, then my dad bought it from him a few months later. Triple black, power everything. It sat up under some trees in our yard from 1980 to 1985. My dad parked it and bought another '74 with a 350 because the 454 cost to much to maintain and operate, supposedly. It only had about 65000 miles on it, but my dad decided it wasn't a good car for a teenager at the time. My first car I actually bought was a '69 Road Runner from a neighbor in 1987. 383, auto, A/C, sunfire yellow with a bronzish interior. I got it for $100. Very clean rust free car. I learned a lot about cars working on that one. I put all new brakes around it, rebuilt the axle, all suspension bushings, shocks, wheel bearings, and other things. I ended up trading it for something else a couple of years later. I also had a '73 318 duster at about the same time. My parents decided to buy me a "decent" car for my 16th birthday, an '81 Chevy Malibu Classic. V6, auto, A/C. I hated that car. I bought a '71 Charger a few weeks later. Yeah I was 16 and had 4 cars. I always had to rely on the Malibu because the other three always needed something. I wish I still had the Road Runner. I still own the Charger.

First car I got to drive on my 16th B-day was a well used 1972 Oldsmobile Delta 88 with a Rocket 350 4bbl. First thing I did was flip the air cleaner lid and burn the snow tires off it. Got my first ticket in it 6 days later for excessive display of horsepower by doing donuts in front of a cop (yeah, I was THAT guy).
First car I bought was my sisters 1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass S Red, black top, white interior, with the OAI fiberglass hood with white strips. Man what a wicked fast car with excellent handling.
First MOPAR, 1976 Plymouth Feather Duster 4 speed OD , tan with tan interior.
First Charger - 1968 Slant six with auto, buckets, 3.23 gear. - fun car but slow as you expect. Should have kept it - as it was rare (just like the Feather Duster).
Only 1 new car - 1990 Ford Mustang LX 5.0 5 speed red sunroof - loads of fun and fast too.

First car I got to drive on my 16th B-day was a well used 1972 Oldsmobile Delta 88 with a Rocket 350 4bbl. My 3rd car was a 1970 Delta 88 with 350 rocket. What a boat! I should have paid attention to that silly oil pressure idiot light. I went thru 4 cars just in my senior year of high school.

learned to drive in 74 on a 74 Satellite 6 cyl w 3 on the tree, it was pretty cool to learn how to drive on that car 1975 I bought a 70 Challenger as my first car, it had a 225 6 cyl with the console and slapstick and looked very cool, well I ran into the back of someone and bent up the hood. I decided then that I would pay the extra and get the twin scoop hood. Shortly after that I decided to duplicate the factory rt stripe down the side. I went to a paint store and found some tape the right size and made me some stripes, and they did look good! After that everyone thought I had a big v8 in that car, after all I had the twin scoop hood and the stripes on the car! lol. Then in 77 I was looking for something different, I found my 74 charger se which I still have to this day.
