If someone hit your car how far would you want it taken back to make it right again? After my SE was hit on Friday am wondering how far does one insist the paint matching ect. Like some ideas Body shops do not want to touch it because of trying to match the paint

In my opinion....you're going to have to find a specialty shop, and then leave it to them. It's a leap of faith.

Very sorry to hear about your SE. For what it's worth my bodyshop supply store has a computer for matching paint. Might be helpful.

I would be very concerned about matching the paint. If not done properly it sticks out like a sore thumb. Sory your SE got hit. You seem to be taking it very well.

Every body I am not mad, sad or distraught. just can't believe I am still having this good luck.
Dave and Bob I will send you two some pictures
As of yesterday, nobody has any idea what the parts availability is. Yes I have the parts but was saving them for another car
It looks like they are going to have to paint the quarter, trunk lid outside and inside water gutter area
One shop wanted to paint with water paint and clear
I was hoping to have the car be gone next week too.

Do you have collector car insurance for this claim?

I had 2 instances, one self inflicted and the other my neighbor. Hagerty was great with both. Nothing like what yours sounds like but difficult enough on the door because of the crease. The paintless dent guy didn't feel it would be done right if he did it. Yes, match the color - it should not be difficult. Anyone who tells you it is doesn't want to be bothered and that being the case you don't want them anyway. Get it done - right!

My neighbor does this for a living painting cars and has done many classics. He did my car so I would have him repaint if it were hit. He actually made me an extra 1/2 gallon for future touch-ups if needed. Found that many shops don't want to touch the classics cause some owners just get to damn picky.

Yes I have Hagerty have not talked to them yet
So far the guy is not returning any emails, or phone calls He has till this weekend and then I will start making his life miserable
This little damage totally destroyed the new Challenger
It's like he hit a brick wall Good thing it was a nice rust free Arizona car
At one time the drivers door had the skin replaced but not other damage to it
