My 72 rallye's trunk lock latch is rusted shut, but the internals work, problem is the housing support is so rusted that its separating from the vertical panel as I try to bounce the lock latch open, it looks like I'll have to go thru the back seat to open it, is there mounting bolts that I can remove from the housing to separate the latch from the housing or is this welded, please post pics of this assy. please. thanks all mpb

I'm not quite sure what you're asking. The latch is bolted to the deck lid. The striker plate is attached to the body. So, is the lock broken or is the latch and/or striker coming loose?

Thanks for the pic Odzking, that's what I needed, the latch is corroded to the stryker bar, the lock works, it just wont release. I also fear that the stryker housing is corroded away also as there is an ominous crunching sound as you try to lift/bounce the lid. If it wont bust loose with penetrating pluid I'll have to find a very long extention... Thanks again Robert
