Wait...are you saying that American Collectors is owned by USAA?
Collectors insurance is funny stuff, not unlike all insurance I guess. So many variables, it's very hard to get a direct apples-to-apples comparison.
I ran numbers this summer for one of my cars. American Collectors, Heacock, Grundy Worldwide, Hagerty, Condon & Skelly, J.C. Taylor, Farmers, and Frankenmuth (the last two "conventional" carriers that offer collector policies). American Collectors came back as the second most expensive, behind only Hagerty. Price difference from top to bottom, a $264.00 swing for a year's worth (with the low being $290, the high was close to double).
Ultimately, I left it on as a daily driver with the rest of my daily drivers for the rest of this summer/fall, as my std. carrier offers "storage" coverage, which the collector companies largely did not. Storage for the winter is a BIG money saver. I'll start fresh in the spring with a collector policy, probably from Grundy, if I can forgive them for the HORRIBLE first (second, third and fourth) impression they made.

I just got my documents and very happy. I had hagerty and lost big time on a Claim. American insurance ask me the value and said no Questions asked on pay out. value $18,000 pictures provided. can drive 24/7-365 for pleasure, must be garage keeped during winter? Arkansas also (Laughing Out Loud)? $5,000 ON GARAGE ITEMS STOLEN OR FROM CAR ALSO... $175.00 CASH UP FRONT NO PAYMENT PLAN OR DIRECT DEPOSIT.... As to USAA, I'M A VET, BUT THEY DID'NT ASK FOR ID TO THE FACT. You ask if ACA was owned by USAA. I ask who owns the Bank your with or gas station? NON AMERICAN! and all the mopars are in Japan and Australia<<<<funny

Just pulled a quote from American Collectors for my Charger. It was 1 1/2 times what Hagerty quoted me.
