G'day again guys.
Well....as hard as this is to believe, I still don't have any decent pictures of the car for you all to look at.
In fact, when I first got it I was a bit undecided I'd done the right thing buying another car, but this time round it's my family who seems really keen about it.
This Bee was bought from the San Diego area around 18 months back, and the guy out here who brought it in had circumstances change and had to sell it. When I get some decent pics I'll post them up.
It's a complete numbers matching car. Trust me, I've checked. Original motor, transmission, body everything. Looks like it's only got 120,000 mile on the engine and runs VERY strong. The guy out here added a high performance distributor and coil, and when it was in the States it got a new timing chain and gears, and also a new power steering box and headers. The wheels are big out back. The tyres are 295's on Yokohama 352's. I have a feeling the springs may have been adjusted to accomodate, but that's about it for mods. When they wear out (which may be a while). I'll rpobably go a little smaller on smaller Rallye rims.....I like authentic looking cars.
Just tonight I pulled out the master cylinder and booster. The master cylinder was weeping a little, and the booster needs a tidy up. Whilst they're out I'm making up all new brake lines. I bought the master cylinder and also shocks and front end stuff from Rock Auto. Far out, they ship fast. I ordered the MC last Friday and it arrived here in Australia on Tuesday. I ordered the suspension stuff Sunday, and it's due tomorrow (Friday).
I have the broadcast sheet for the car, and I'm very impressed with how original everything seems. It's had a respray a few years back by the looks of it, and Whilst it wasn't a back to metal job, I'm hoping it'll last a few years. Looks fantastic, I must admit.
When I sold my other Bee I was right into bikes, but as time went on I missed having an old car to tinker with. Never imagined I'd get another 71, let alone another Bee. You have to remember they never sold them here, so to find one 90 minutes away was something special.
Anyway, like I said I'll try and get some decent pics......she's not going anywhere right now because I've ripped all the brake lines out.
Regards, and thanks for the comments,
Peter
