I have a 1974 charger se brougham my freind special ordered in 1974 when we got out of school I am the first person to take car apart ordered with 400 hp stamped on block has 440 casting heads with magnum cam 4 bbl thermoquad with dual snorkel air cleaner.it has hp exhaust manifolds with low restriction exhaust. Hd 727 and a dana rearend can't remember gear ratio. Has air also is b8 blue paint. Hd front and rear suspension power disc brakes white vinal top b5 blue interior with vinal seats with cloth inserts high back bench seat with buddy seat. Magnum 500 wheels. Auto on column rally dash with 150 spedometer tach with tic toc clock dual exhaust with cutouts with orange machine gun tips. Ordered from keck chrysler plymouth in butler pa saw order form when he came from dealer I have build sheet and fender tag in safety deposit box. When he ordered was not shure if it was going to come in the way he ordered it but it did I was wondering how rare car is how do I get the numbers since galvin is not taking any decodes. Like I said know the car from the day it was new have it down to shell right now am almost done with metal work the other thing is the color I have been going to mopar events since the 70s and have never seen a other b8 blue one. I am going to restore it back to stock. How rare do you guys think this car is like it is built have seen a lot of chargers but none just like this because I am always looking. Also where do I get the white book I have other mopars I need to check.

According to a reference I found on the net they produced 2,272 SE's with 400-4/AT in '74. Haven't seen any numbers broke down more than that. Hope someone can help with the paint color; The only way I could tell on my 71 was getting a copy of the dodge dealer andvanced information booket for 72 which gave the numbers and % of how many cars were painted in each color. Even this is not accurate as Chargers are grouped with Coronets.
Speaking of hard to find colors, try finding a 72 rallye in med brown metallic. If you see one please let me know!
Got any pics?

Must be pretty special with a clock and a tach. Definitely never seen one like that. It would have been rarer with a 360 hp but the 400 hp is more desirable cause its a big car. Color is definitely different because most are green , tan, brown and other refrigerator colors that were popular at the time. There is no breakdown other than motor and model, so I'd just say it's a barn find," one of one" like everybody else does these days and drive the wheels off of it! Do a search ,the stats are somewhere on here. Post up some pics when you get a chance. This is the only place where a 74 is going to find a lot of love.

Yes, by all means please post up some pics. Never seen a 74 that had clock and tach or a Dana rear end.

simply because tic-toc-tach never existed on a diff Charger than 2nd gens. However, chargerspecialties offered once, long time ago, a piece for 3rd gens... not anymore though

I always think of Johnny whenever I catch myself saying "I did not know that". That tic-toc-tach would be a cool upgrade for our 3rd gens. Kind of wish they still made them. I'm old enough that I like a good old fashioned clock in my cars. A 9.25 would be the more std. issue item for that time, although I'll admit I'm not sure when the last year for the Dana in a B-body was. I would "guess" '71 or '72, with the demise of the Hemi and 440-6. The 9.25 ran all the way up to the end of B-body production in 1979.

I'm bettng the Dana under this car is the 9 !/4. Almost a certainty. For some reason, the 9.25's are commonly mistaken for a Dana 60. I believe 72 was the last year of a Dana being available in a B body.
