I did a brake job on my 74 Charger in 2013, replaced everything in the front, rotors calipers, hoses but while I was in Oreilys I found red caliper paint and since all was new I went ahead and painted my new calipers red. Then when I did the back brakes I put on new drums and painted them red. I think both look good with the nice shiny 1977 Cragars. Id post a pic but she is all coverd up in the garage right now till april.

My '73 came with the magnum 500 wheels. The drums still had the factory locks on the studs, the rear drums had red paint and the wheels had red paint transferred to them where the contacted the drums. It looks as though the wheels were installed while the drum paint was still tacky. I am quite sure they painted the drums well into the '73 model year. My car was built in January of '73 in the Lynch road plant.

I parted out a 73 Se a couple of years ago that had red painted drums that were textbook correct brush painted sloppy red. I did it to my 74 drums to show behind my Magnums.
