.... mostly because I'm helping a friend of mine on get the best and cheaper trim as posible to his 14x5.5" Rallye wheel set on his Dart, ( no matter correctness, just right fit and cheap ) and found this about the ones to my car. If it helps I took this measurement on the ones I have on my 14"x5.5" I posted pics on the thread about the drums painted red. Looks about 2 & 3/8" deep.

Also, could you post what you find out is correct for the A bodies? I have a set of trim rings that were on the 14"x5.5" Rallye rims when I bought them. They are 14", very shallow and have a rounded shoulder. I was told they were off of an A body. I'd like to know what they are supposed to fit as I'm trying to sell them. They may not even be for a Mopar as far as I know!

well the closer posible is 2.25"... 2.5" could not fit I guess. But I think you are measuring the full lenght not the deep, which will get you a longer measurement... deep must be measured vertically against the floor
somebody on Mopars posted the trim of his 6" "magnums" with measuring tape showing a around 2.25" ( showing around a half of inch gap with the deep of rim ). He posted Chrysler PNs telling the 6" and 5.5"s used same trim.
Now wondering if really 7"s got 2.75" (laughing out loud)

Yeah I see what you're saying. I shoulda measured straight up and down. When I measured mine I was heading out to a swap meet and needed to find 2 more for my car and I measured that way figuring it would be the fastest way to measure a bunch if they were in a pile.

un update... the trim rings I got from the ebay seller fits way better/deeper into the rallye wheel I have, ALTHOUGH way weak/flexible. The first I got are more FIRM/HARD.
"olds" are polished, these are chromed.
the big problem is the valve hole. It doesn't fit there. Will need to be trimmed out to make a good fitment.
Pics later

my "old" trim.. rounded edges, polished finish. Hard trim... got a gap deep into the wheel. So they are short New trim.. correct stepped edges, chromed finish, Softer metal than the previous one... got DEEP into the wheel, correct 2.75" height. valve hole difference... new one doesn't meet. In fact you can see a small dent into the top area of new trim valve hole... that was trying to fit it into the rim. Valve met the trim

Yeap, nice for the price. Replacement trim use to be in $40 each. I guess now why these were $90 for the set!
