The cool thing is that when these heads and this cam were in my 511 the average torque and HP #'s were not all that much different. The 511 had a peak of 513.6 HP and 602.1 torque, but it only averaged 439.9 HP and 554.3 torque. So it peaked higher but didn't carry as well as the 440 does. As you can see on the dyno sheets above the 452 had an average of 431.7 HP and 516.3 torque. That's only a 8.2 average HP difference and a 38 ft/lbs difference. So when you factor that into consideration it asks the question? Are stroker engines worth the extra $? Short answer is yes they are, but you need to fit them with the proper parts to make them shine. BUT......... These numbers also show that you can get 500 HP out of stock stroke engines if you can only afford cylinder heads and skip the expense of the stroker kit.
