So, I had the 727 shift seal replaced. Dropped the valve body, pressed in the new seal and done. He disconnected the shift linkage from the socket beside the trany. Now the plastic select needle on the column rubs the plastic housing it's in. The P-R-N-D-2-1 Select needle is what I am trying to describe. I watched the whole time and nothing strange. It did not do that prior. What would be your first thought?

My thoughts since all the linkages go up to that needle that pulling on bottom shaft somehow pulled or pushed linkage forward or back tweaking the needle ??..

I think you stared at it so long, you bent the needle with your mind powers.
