Does anyone know how to get clips to release on this bottom trim?

First, there are 2 screws, one at either end. Then the moulding itself sits on the clips are and held securely by all the Philips head screws on the bottom under the rocker. They HAVE to be removed before this will come off. I forget how many at least 6, maybe more. Once the screws are off, it will just about fall off the car.

Ok thx for info, sounds easy enough. If I may also ask how does trim that covers the vinyl top edge on back side come off, I noticed something under vinyl this morning I've never seen before, it's right at the edge and I hope it's not rust.

how does trim that covers the vinyl top edge on back side come off, I noticed something under vinyl this morning I've never seen before, it's right at the edge and I hope it's not rust. Several different clips on that depending on exactly where you mean. As pictured below those handle bar things are springy, press against those and lift the opposite side in your case. These are for the pieces that run along the top. Be careful, if they are original, they WILL break. (Ask me how I know). Luckily there are clip kits on EBay. The other one (two) spring like ones pictured go on the round boomerang portion that make the big curve. Now, the ones on the side below the louver window are completely different. Those kind of just snap on, they look like this. The moulding will slide off once the other pieces are removed, or gently lift the bottom and lift up at the same time. GENTLY! These don't break so easy, they are available too and those I have a bunch of. Is it all a pain in the a** to put back on? You bet! Especially the curved boomerang portion.

It's the curved part closest to the SE emblem, the ones I think you said we're a pain in the A$$. This pic shows what I'm after, you can see a slight hump right above trim. Maybe I can just take the straight one off and get to it to see what it is. How do I get the short straight piece off?

Yes, to get that off, you need to remove at least one other piece. Under the louvers is best, then what is holding that at the bend is the spring-like clip pictured in previous. I can only find a pic of mine partially removed but that piece I refer to will slide off one at least come off easily.

Here you can see where the hole and the pins are.

It might save you some time but that bubble is probably where they glued (caulked ?) the plug in for the SE windows. They all need work done there so I wouldn't get into it unless you need a project. Dodge did a crappy job putting in the plugs and over the years it has shrunk and causes all kinds of problems. You have to pull the interior trim off to get the SE emblem off by the way. It has speednuts on the other side.

I did get that short trim under the louvers off and was able to determind that rust is not my problem. I need to get around and order a clip set, I know it will come in handy. Any tips on finding replacement vinyl tops?
