Nice story, Bob. I thought you were going to tell us you tripped over the original nest, broke your other wrist, and built the new nest with your feet during your convalescence. So Steve....what do you think of your namesake?

Now you have a new mascot to take along to the shows and swap meets.

Cool story Bob. I didn't realize the mother would come back to it.

Awww, that is great. I love animals, especially ones who cant fend for themselves. I hate to even watch those shows where some animal is chasing a small animal because I feel sorry for the little guy. Good thing my wife won't let me take in any more kitties. I'd have the house full of strays and rescues.

Well today is day 6 and it was strengthening day. Steve would go from one hand to the next with his long legs and flap his little wings. When I let him down on the ground and I lay about a foot away he runs over to me. When I see his mom with a mouthful of yummy juicy worms I put him back in the box and mom comes in and feeds him. Steve is the most pooping bird I ever met. I feed him worms about 10 times a day. I don't know if he will remember any of this when it's time to fly the coop. He may stop by for a worm or two. Steve loves being cupped in my hand and going to sleep. I did manage to chirp at him and he would chirp back. I think his first chirp was Charger. Who knew this little bird would have such an impact. Tomorrow we will start endurance training.

Bob, it's good to see you have a new feathered buddy. This morning, I saw a big white bunny rabbit in my backyard. Must be someones pet. It was pretty plump. Rachel said she was able to get close to it and pet it. Luckily, my cats were sleeping...and didn't notice it out the window. And recently there is a Turkey that comes around my yard 2-3 times a week, usually in the evening.
