We had really good luck with the aftermarket parts we had to buy when we restored our C-10 Chevy. For the lions share of the parts we were able to find NOS, or some really nice used originals, but there were a few items we needed that just were not anywhere to be found except by buying reproduction. We tried to stay with Chevy licensed parts and for the most part we were able to steer clear of knock-offs and Chinese copies. I realize that a lot of the repro parts are made in China, but at least they hopefully have some kind of quality control, especially the officially licensed items, tho I know that theory doesnt always hold water either. My rule of thumb was if it was anything involving the running or steering or could-be-a-safety-issue, then we steered clear (as much as we could) of unknown brands. For cosmetic items, the bar was set a little lower, but that doesnt mean that we didnt instantly return items that were bent, twisted, warped, stained, discolored, unmatching, or just plain didnt fit. I am the King of RMA.....Return Merchandise Authorization Numbers.

The pickup coil is likely manufactured in the USA. I went to the company website (Airtex). They manufacture their own fuel pumps as well a other parts. That was a nice surprise when your expecting made in China.

Indeed.
But again, you bought from a known retail outlet, right? The knock-offs seem to come from folks offering deals "to good to be true" on the web.
