Very common. Possibly someone else can explain WHY it happens but I see that all the time on 3rd gens. New plug, they are on EBay, not too expensive. Or contact Evans wiring, he has them.

Not uncommon. Tipically red wich is the main one and blue which is the engine source and couple other stuff around the dash. They get loose with the time, plus adding keyed accesories overloads the red one. Blue one can get melted with a short anywhere into the engine bay ( alternator field, ballast, engine choke are the main devices sucking load and prone to fail due the heat cracking every isolation )
USUALLY terminals and plugs ARE NOT AVAILABLE so must be restored ( clean and tightenned ) IF SOMEBODY KNOWS whwere to find this plugs and terminals, please let me know. Not in Venenzuela for sure.
I have had to replace complete ignition switch still in perfect working order for friends just because the bad conditions plug, but then, the male end on dahs harness still needs to be home fixed.

Nate... check for thick red and black wires on bulkhead and engine bay side... these are the other ones need to be checked. Those netwires can be easilly upgraded though without cut or splice enything around, to save any future failure. Tipically these get melted due the lack of power coming from stock low capacity alternators. Alternator upgrade is mandatory on our cars
Check the thick black wire at headlights plug, ammeter eyelet terminals allong with stud conditions and A/C BLOWER LEVER PLUG. This last allways get melted. I think those are the more common failures

Yes, I have seen them but not recently. What you need depending on which side, and it looks as if you need both is 2983403 and 2983404. CollectorsAutoSupply.com has then and if you Google connector with those numbers you'll see they used them in F body cars as well as trucks for quite some time. And again I would bet that Evans wiring would either have one or know where to get one.

I have two red wires coming off my ammeter. Also looks as though I have a power window relay on my fuse block. My car does not have power windows. Any ideas?
