when rebuilding/replacing camshaft is a good advise replace springs, althought locally nobody does . Pushrods can be the same. Honestly I don't think you will have any problem with what you got if just surface rust

If springs are pitted it give a weak spot for them to break. If not swapping the cam at least change out those items to be sure. Use some over the counter TRW parts. But if you are like me, while there, you might as well replace the valve seals since they are old and will fail once you start driving it and then it will smoke. If there was enough moisture to rust those, is there rust on the cam? Thats a definite no/no.

Thank you for the help. The cam is not rusted at all just some surface rust on some of the push rods. Is there a good way to just clean up the surface rust on the push rods?

Yes, you can soak them in some type of rust removing acid. Some actually contain no acid at all and some do.

Muriat acid... In Europe some ppl uses Coke to remove rust

White vinegar. Wash off with baking soda mixture to neutralize.
