After some long and careful thought and consideration, I feel it's only fair to keep this forum up and running. Now as far as "active", that we'll be up to us members on how busy it will be.
It's only fair to keep on trucking with this board, as many many contributors have filled the pages and pic galleries with information, pics and advice in the last 6-1/2 years, helping many 3rd Gen "addicts" out in restoring our great cars.
DynoDave will be (as he has for a while) running the show for me, and doing his usual excellent job.
I don't usually share much of my personal life with people, but in lieu of an apology for not being as supportive as I could have of my own forum I will say this.
I am currently in the hospital RIGHT NOW, having transferred down from Placerville where my truck is getting a Pac Brake Exhaust Brake installed. I've been ignoring some serious symptoms in me lately while I focus my efforts on trying to move some vehicles back east.
So far I have been diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure, Pneumonia, Type 2 Diabetes, a Pulmonary Embolism, Severe High Blood Pressure,Severe Chronic Sleep Apnea (sleep disorder) Edema of the Feet, and Atrib FIbrrilation in the Upper Atrium Chamber of my heart. Also there were indications of a moderate to severe Myocardial Infarction (heart attack) sometime within the past 2 years.......I probably thought I was having a bad day that day, I guess.
Once they get me controlled and on a maintenance routine, I will have a MRI done to check for prior concussions etc., and then have a Pacemaker installed to help that Atrial chamber out. Fortunately the ol' "pump" itself is fairly good shape, with a pump pressure of around 55%
That's the actual pressure rating of the blood as it's being pushed through the arteries, compared to a perfect 100. However, I'm informed that the greatest percentage of us are only rated at 70% at best.
And apparently, once you have a Pacemaker installed, you can NEVER have an MRI done, because the unit will damage the Pacemaker beyond repair.
At any rate, they should be finished with all of their initial work by Monday, or Tuesday, I've been here since Tuesday. After I'm discharged, I have a ton of followup visits and work with specialists and therapists to get the whold regime synchronized and effeciently working for me.
I haven't been feeling my best for a long time, my energy level has been ZERO for many many months, and now I know why. I know that's no excuse for basically abandoning this forum, but now you guys know why I have.
Hopefully I'll be rock and rollin' before too long, I have complete and utter confidence in Dave and the Moderators to keep the ship righted.
Again, a heartfelt thanks to all of you who have commented, with all of your good and kind words, and are going to stay a part of this family.
Thanks to you all, and have a blessed day !!
Sincerely, "Jer"
