Yes the "thin black wire" on the NEW harness aligns with the "orange" wire on the cars harness plug. Should I eliminate it or allow it to connect to the orange wire on the cars harness?

Nacho, are you saying that I can simply plug the long "red and black " wires into the end of the NEW plug ? Just match the red and black wires to the cars " male harness plug"? Like the picture.

And I guess the thin black wire must be eliminated or simply remove it from the plug and isolate it. Dunno if is an extra acc source for some other models or what kind of signal carries. Once I found on ebay a seller selling one of those and got a pic of the instructions sheet but just partial. I saved the pic somewhere in the PC. Will try to find it

Ignore my last question. I realized that the orange wire (male end) doesn't have a wire (female end ) connecting to it in the original set up.

That's because the female section is just present on column shifter cars. Floor shfter cars got that cavity empty on ign switch harness
But, if the extra black wire is conected on the orange wire and carries and extra acc source, the cluster lighting system will be allways lighten on as soon you put the key in RUN and ACC positions.

New question.... There are 2 thin red wires that i traced to the ignition lock cylinder (first picture ). The other end of these 2 thin red wires were connected to the old ignition switch harness plug (female side) and the old car harness plug (male side black wires). . Question... is it possible to pull the 2 thin red wires out of the old ignition switch harness (female side plug ) and "re-use" them in the new harness (female side plug )? Second picture I tried pulling the 2 thin red wires out of the old harness plug and reusing them in the new harness plug but I could not pull 2 red thin wires out?

Thats the key in buzzer switch. Is not part of the ign switch but just shares the plug. Remove it from the old plug and reinstall it on the new plug. Doesn't matter which one on what cavity, will work the same
If you look at the heavy red and black wires on the new switch, you'll find couple of retainning tabs on the sides. The tiny red wires are exactly the same but just smaller. Need to bend those tabs to be able to pull out the terminals... relocate the tabs on the position and reinstall on the new plug.
There is a tool for that, but if you are handy, can be made without the tool... use precission screwdrivers or built your own tool. The original tool is something like a tube of the size of the terminal. Myself have used tiny precission screwdrivers... got a bit bent the terminal, but easy to "reshape" back.
You can make the same with the extra black wire... remove it in the same way from the plug and isolate it with shrinking tube. I wouldn't cut it. Can be usefull in the future.
One question, maybe a bit late! Are you sure your ign failure comes from switch?
Next question... did you read we said your turning switch is broken? I meant not electrically but mechanically. The turning canceling cam got broken the ear which turn off with the wheel the turning function to the right side

I can't find the screen shot of the replacement ign switch instructions sheet... was not complete, but it was posible to read part of the instructions about what to do with the Red and black wires ( which is pretty much obvious ) and the extra black wire, according with the body and year.
