Good thing you looked it over first.

Yes, agreed. They have been more responsive on the issues recently. I'd complained about the buttons and they replaced them all. Luckily I only live an hour away from them.

Still waiting on replacement vinyl top from legendary, seems like it’s taking a long time to ship. In the mean time I’ve epoxy primed the metal and letting it cure out. I purchased 3M yellow super trim adhesive to glue the top on with, the can says it was designed for vinyl tops. Does anyone know if this product is good or bad? I would have thought you could buy windshield Crome trim clips at parts stores for a Mopar but guess what; NOPE! Ford, Chevy no problem but Dodge they ain’t got, thank goodness for Classic Industry’s. They are pretty high for what they are, about $40. Anyway my question is does anyone know why I shouldn’t use the 3M product, no one had Weldwood adhesive. Haven’t been able to drive car since Thanksgiving day, having Charger withdrawals 😬

Got my top today and guess what, it’s the wrong grain! They sent it in boar grain this time. This material seems thinner than the first top and looks like it would be easier to install. I had rather put this top on as far as it being easier to work with but I’ll hold out for cobra grain so it will match opera glass inserts.

This reminds me somebody around who bought some wheels and sent them with the wrong pattern twice Actually it was 4 times Legendary is giving me the wrong top they sent to keep free of charge and sending me the cobra grain I ordered. Truth is if it wasn’t for it not matching the opra glass inserts I would rather put that top on, the material looks easier to work with. This glue issue is giving me a headache, I called 3M today about the super yellow adhesive which says it’s for vinyl tops and the rep said not to use it. Ive been reading everything I can on line about vinyl adhesive and get conflicting views. Some swear by the 3M product and others swear at it. A lot say weldwood is the best product and others use just general pourpose contact glue. I use a good contact glue for Formica tops I build made by hi bond but their rep said I couldn’t use it either cause of oil migration he said what ever that is. At this point I don’t know what to do. Weldwood makes a Landau top & trim HHR solvent type spray grade glue which is sounding like my best and safest bet. The trouble there is nobody sells it local, going to try and find it in Little Rock and if not I guess on line is only option. Any thoughts?

I have used the super yellow contact glue/cement to install mine without problems ( twice ), and will use it again. Aplied with spatula not even with air gun!

Interesting that a 3M rep. would say not to use one of their products for the purpose it was designed for.
I've not done an exterior top, so really have no direct experience, just interior headliners. What are you reading on line that is negative about the 3M product? What is the complaint? Hard to work with, does stick and top comes loose? Just curious.

The complaints vary about the 3M product but mostly that it won’t hold up and let go of vinyl. I found a upholstery supply company in Little Rock that sold Weldwood landau top and trim adheasive which I feel very confident in so I got that and took back the 3M. Now I’m waiting on new vinyl and good weather.
