Have you ever imagined 73 and 74 SEs uses the same moldings?

New learnt! well it seems they are not!

vinyl roof molding section down the louvers and drip rail moldings ( actually the B pillar section ) ARE NOT the same between 73s and 74 SEs. They maybe could be installed on any year BUT being matched, not mixing these two pieces.

Bob Olszansky ( can't recall his scren name here at this moment LOL ) and me were searching about this. He consulted me about PNs and I found they were diff PNs BUT all color keyed pieces changed their PNs between 73 and 74s due a new standard on numeration for these kind of pieces starting on 74, so that didn't helped.

He continued digging on this, an found the differences:


73:
Colored section of horizontal molding down the louvers meets with top of door molding. B pillar drip rail molding stops right before



74:
Colored section of Vinyl top mold is cut by the B pillar mold which reachs a lower height. So top mold gets a diff angled shape there.

Interesting, the part comes to more of a point in 74 than straight. Which means I think I have 74 on my car!
I do know this, halfway through the year on the 73's they superseded all those to one number and they came brushed (no paint). They needed to be painted at the dealer/shop when replaced.
Supplying the colors was not cost efficient to Chrysler.

Of course this defines a diff mold for B pillar as mentioned
