I took the charger out 4 days in a row, a new record. My daughter enjoys coming along. She commented on the rattle noises which reminded me of this video that I watched a while ago. Thought I'd give it a go. If it doesn't work I'll just order new weather strip. As I fed the weed whacker wire, the strip began to split down the middle. I decided to stuff the foam tubing in anyway. It actually made it a 3 minute job. I havent done the passenger side yet. I'm thinking of maybe placing a bead of silicone or rubbber glue to maybe close the seam. Heck I may just leave it as is and use a marker to blacken the foam. It stays in place without falling out. As for the noise I'll have to get back to you on that. The door still closes nicely with a slight more resistance, so I'm sure it will help with the rattles. I love hacks, especially if they work. Here are some pictures.

They seem to be very specific to year. I may have to pick up a whole kit. Amazon listed them at one time but no longer has them. Anyone with a 71 have a picture of the style?

Are these two pieces? Looks like there are hard plastic pieces left in the door where the rubber bumper sat.

Two pieces each door, the correct one on my 74 is the squared one. The round one works too. I fit those when I found them locally in Vzla because Chebbies use those and Chebbbi parts are easier to find anywhere in the world, untill got the correct ones and installed them.
The piece still on door is just the end broken in place. Sure must be hardened after 50 years
