Hello All!!
I've tried Self-help on a problem my '74 Charger has, but Searches for "Coronet" turned up no pertinent matches, sorry.
I've got nasty rust from having a halo top.
The leading edge and A pillars are apparently rusting..... HOPEFULLY early stages, just noticed this week, with a nasty *crunch* *crunch* sound through the stiff vinyl.
I've called a local scrapper who has a cut-up '71 Coronet 4 door roof.
I'm hoping I won't have to do a complete roof R&R, but rather use his donor for patches.
Do you think the contour of a '71 4 door Coronet roof leading edge will match that of my '74?
And no, I REALLY don't wanna gonna go back to another Halo ...... I'll keep the trim, but skip the rust-timebomb.
Lastly ..... since AMD is never gonna pop a roof skin for 3rd Gen Chargers (yes, i said never, because that is sadly true), has any Member here heard or done a 3D scan of a stock roof edge?
...... although $$$, having a piece(s) made by a metal 3D printer might be better than stitch welding (?)
Much appreciate your educated and/or experienced replies, thank you in advance 🙂

No, roof is diff wide, height and A pillars angle on 4 doors sedans. Just 71/74 two doors ( Plymouth or Dodge ) will work

Agree with Nacho. 4 door Coronets angled down different on the pillars and the downslope in the back window and sail panel sides. Try a junk yard and look for a 71-74 charger roof.

Charger or whichever 2 doors Satellite/RR/GTX... 71 throught 74. diff from earliers, 71/74 roof skin doesn't include any section of the C pillar, so even with the C pillars difference on all these, is not an obstacle.

Thank you for your input, Hanks 👍 I'm looking for that leading edge, the rest of the roof is A-1. Sadly, years ago i could still find a few yards with 71-74 Chargers ..... and I'd PLEAD with the yard manager to allow me to take the entire car, or chop it. They wouldn't do it ..... sending them to the crusher within months. That rotten Clunker Bill didn't help, either, i remeber the local Mopar club, Suncoast Mopar, was trying to fight it ..... a losing battle Thanks again!!

and... I have had rust issues on my roof too... but Halo roof is going in again on my car!!! LOL Right, I'm seeing replacing the Halo as kinda the only easy way to cover-up a patched roof edge. ..... *sigh* I'm probably gonna have to go down that path myself

Where are you located? I have a 73 parts car im parting in Robertsdale Alabama. Hi Weaz Thanks for chiming-in 👍 The west/Gulf coast of Florida, middle of the state ..... ZIP 33702. I see you're right there in the panhandle area, by Mobile. By next next-weekend, I'll do an autopsy, opening her up to see how nasty it is, and better know what's my Options. My first ride was an '86 Fury, with full vinyl, and I completely removed it when she ripped .... THAT roof is fine today .... wish i took better care/watch of the Chargers halo
