So if my rough math is right, that's at least 33 more years. I won't be alive in 33 years. that's if you are able to still drive safelly before that. AND I hope your 72 Rallye will be already build by that moment LOL.( I hope mine too ) We are talking about eletric vehicles but MAYBE some other kind of energy could be available in 10 or 15 years that will take the place of what electrical should take. Nuclear ? or whatever being studied from Aliens startships on Area 51 on a side note... Performance on electric cars will be really boring if you ask me.

I think the electric vehicles, on paper, provide (or at least CAN provide) some very exciting performance numbers. The new Mustang Truck puts down some good numbers. I've had the opportunity to drive hybrid, pure electric, and even a fuel cell vehicle for a short distance at very low speed. While the electric has some positives, like being very quiet, and very smooth, instant max. low end torque, instant response, etc., I find them to be utterly soulless, and quite devoid of personality. I myself have no interest in them. The fuel cell electric has more mechanical noises, as valves open and close, hydrogen fuel moves under high pressure, and the stack creates electricity. So in that respect, it felt slightly more familiar, yet still quite unusual. Still not really my cup of tea. But with it's benefit of quick re-fuel, and thus a range experience much like a gasoline vehicle, I would find it a much more enjoyable ownership experience. I've never had the opportunity to drive a hydrogen fueled internal combustion engine, but see no reason to believe that it would be a wildly different experience from a gasoline internal combustion engine.

I can only speak for myself, but after owning a 2018 Tesla Model 3 LR RWD now for over two years, I can say a few things. It's faster than my Charger will ever be. With 6.75KW of solar panels charging it, we are essentially driving on sunshine. And even though I have no plan to sell my Charger, I can say I'll never be buying another ICE vehicle. The Tesla is the only car I've ever owned that exceeded my expectations. Is a perfect? Heck no, but it's a blast to drive. Over the two and a half years, total maintenace has been 1gal of windshield washer fluid ($1.29 I think). Last fall, I did a road trip from San Jose to Minneapolis to visit my folks because I didn't want to get on a plane. Took the Tesla. It was the best cross country trip I've ever done (and I've done a few). I couldn't believe how much the auto pilot reduced the fatique of driving. The Supercharger network is pretty amazing and my average charging stop was just over 20 minutes; the car was usually ready to go before I was.
For me, it was the gas prices here in CA that provided the motivation to look at EV's; I was sick of paying for some Arab to buy a bigger yacht. I find the Model 3 as fun to drive as the Charger. It's actually better in many ways, many owners claim it handles like a BMW. I don't know, never owned or drove a BMW but it's certainly a better handling car than the R/T. The wife wasn't sure about it at first, didn't think she'd like the center screen/no instrument cluster design. Not only did she do a total 180, but now she's pulled out all the stops and is twisting my arm to swap her E320 for a Tesla Model Y. Good thing a bought some Tesla stock back in 2018 after we got the Model 3.
