Hi, I was wondering is there a way that i can bypass the starter interlock on my 74 Charger SE? I want to know cause most of the original wiring has already been cut out. But i want to rip out eveything that has to do with the starter interlock system completley. Can I get some help on this from anyone please thank you.

the easier way is simply jump the two yellow wires on reset button. In that way you still will have the warning signals but able to start the engine anytime.
The best way IMHO is get an orange control box what is a canadian box, or a green box what is been sold around on ebay. In that way won't need to jump anything ( since yellow wire is already jumped inside ) and will have still the warning signals ( lights on if you have the propper buzzer, key in and seatbelts buzzer )
if you want a CLEAN ASSEMBLY WITHOUT WIRES ANYWHERE interlock related you can ( if you think you are able ) remove the wiring, untape, remove the wires related with interlock box and sensor harness, tape it back and relocate the yellow wire coming from steering column switch on bulkhead.
OR get a 71 harness... will need to turn some wires around on bulkhead.
I can get your box without problem... is a blue one right ?

ok, so the reset button jump the yellow wires? that would be an easy thing but id like to take out everything that has to do with the starter interlock stuff including the reset button. now my car is completely strip down the das is out as well as the bulkhead and fuse box all the electrical is all torn out of the car since i will be replacing it all with new. The box that i have is a blueish green one for the interlock. the numbers on it are 3746653 Auto7902 2238
they are in that exact order.

Why remove it? Just me but I would think it would be a bad thing to be able to start the car in gear?

The interlock doesn't controls the starting point on gear like the NSS in tranny does. is just a sensor when you are in P/N or gear to advertise about seatbelts once you gear ( if already started the engine ) or won't allow to start the engine EVEN ON P/N if you don't have fastened them... What controls that you won't be able to start the engine in Gear for safety, is still the NSS on tranny I LIKE THOSE NUMBERS ON CONTROL BOX ;D... did you already tested you weren't able to start the engine without fatsen the seatbelts ? Remove it is just if you wants. Bypass the yellow wires will allow you to start the engine however I don't have idea if that will hurt the blue box control. The reset button in fact makes that... jumps internally the two yellow wires for some minutes. on tech archives I made a thread posting info about how does works, including a Factory video... If you remove everything about interlock and you still want to keep the key in buzzer and the lights on buzzer needs another mods, since interlock also controls these functions, but is not hard. I already made it once the easier of everything and perfect job IMHO is simply try to get an orange box ( I'm sure about that since is the one I have right now working ) what is not an interlock really, is more like a buzzer control unit ( key in, seatbelts and lights on if buzzer is the propper one )... maybe THIS BOX will work like the orange one. Orange is a Canadian box for 74... cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NOS-MoPar-1975-Seat-Belt-Warning-Module-w-o-Interlock_W0QQitemZ170144487729QQcmdZViewItemthis green box, is stated for non interlocked cars... maybe he still have it I'm sure there is another one around

didn't find the other one what it was NOS too... BTW, the to buzzer function, even control box controls everything, need the right buzzer this is the FULL BUZZER FUNCTION... is 4 prongs and works to buzz when you have key in, lights on and seatbelt unfastened and this is the regular buzzer when you didn't have the lighting package option what includes the lights on buzzer function... used just to seatbelts on earlier models, on 74 was used to buzz with seatbelts and key in too... Plugs on same 4 prongs plug equipped on car on earliers the key in buzzer is on fusebox, same horn relay device
