looking at pictures of my uncles charger i noticed something unusual....his dash does not have a Tach! and i thought it was odd that it had the square speedo. i assume thats all because the ralley gauge set up is the set with the tach. and the ralley gauges are the circular ones i see on many 3rd generations. Anyway, obviosuly it does have the manual clock so i was wondering if anyone knows where i could get a period-correct tic toc tach and thro that over the existing clock. thanks!

www.chargerspecialties.com/catalog.htm#TACHOMETERSnot original product! CS166 71-74 B body non-rally tac THEY offered once, long time ago, tic toc tachs for Rallye cluster to 3rd gens... of course they weren't available from fact, just was a try to offer same gauge setup than 2nd gens. Apparently wasn't successfull, like is not a complete success the aftermarket repro tachs for 3rd gens because wrong scale and wrong font numbers ( and unexistant stop at 0 rpms ) So UNLESS you find some customer what got that custom tic toc tach and try to sell it, I think hard you'll find one new. They weren't ever made for standart cluster though!

I misunderstood the question. I took it that he was wanting to add this earlier style tach to his std. speedo cluster, in place of the clock. But obviously a tic-toc would have a clock as well, where this is only a tachometer. My mistake.

Interested in what this 3rd gen tic-toc-tac looked like. Hope the tach was in the middle this time - then again, with the better location of the 3rd gen.........
I have a 2nd gen Charger with tic-toc-tac. It is at the far left of the cluster & much of the tach is hidden by the clock when sitting in the normal driving position.

Sounds like you have the standard gauge cluster with OPTIONAL clock. Normally, that space would be blank. The Tach that Nacho found at Charger Specialties is a special aftermarket unit that's made specifically for the 3rd gen standard cluster. These were never offered from CHRYSLER.
Your choices for having a tach in your car are:
Get the Charger Specialties aftermarket tach and put it where the clock is now.
Convert to a rallye gauge setup with tach. (You'll have to change the whole dash harness, too.)
Add an external aftermarket tach.
The bad news is that 3rd gens never had BOTH a clock and tach. You got one or the other or none.
Clear as mud now?
