wood finish marker? how does work that ? NICE LOOKING CLUSTER!!!! Nacho these are what is referred to as a paint stick type marker that has a pump action tip that loads the tip with the contents of the pen...the more you depress the tip in and out..(hmm, now that sounds dirty huh? .....the more fluid comes out...( hmmm again dirty..) you can buy them here at any home improvement distributor such as Home Depot etc..... If ya need one I could mail you one if you'd like?.......just let me know buddy!

What prep did you do to your bezel before the touchup paint was applied? I picked up a MinWax marker (thanks for the tip). But, I would like the surface of the bezel to be nicer, smoother, cleaner than it is before touching up the paint.

Brock........I used grease and wax remover and TSP (Trisodium Phosphate)....which works really good at removing traces of Armour All..etc.......
My dash was not not beat up just dull and a few scratches......this stain touch up is not a paint and may have a hard time covering up repaired areas...it mainly stays transparent and enhances the original finish...........if you have to repair it you may have to repaint it....but you can always give it a go and see if it turns out nice enough...sorry I cant be more help

OK! So, if I get it clean (thinkin of chunkin it in the dishwasher when the wife isn't around) & bypass the temptation to smooth out the poorly cast areas: I should get your results! I'll do a study - since I have a few to work with & report back with pics. I'm glad for your injection into the long lost cluster repair thread. If we ever get it down to a science that covers all contengencies, we might earn a sticky or mention in 1 of the reserved topics!
I'm about to catch a plane out of town for week - so be patient

I was in a hurry when I bought the Minwax product - there was only 1 hanger for the stuff. I noticed just the other day that I bought Red Oak instead of Red Magaghany Back to the drawing board er Home Depot.
