I'm not certain, but I THINK the sail panel "Special Edition" and SE laurel wreath are too far apart in that pic. (I'll measure mine later.)
Also, I believe that "440 magnum" fender badge is an add-on and that it is actually a power bulge hood (PBH) call out...
I base this on the fact that my brand new from the factory 72 SE with a 440 magnum (U code) didn't come with one of those fender badges, and there's no trace of them on my original "survivor" (I hate that word) 440 Magnum U code car that I have now.
Just my own personal belief.....in actuality I kind of like the "call out" on the fender....looks cool....I'm just thinking it's not original.
I'll get the measurement between the 2 sail panel badges for you the first chance I get.
The trunk badges and right front fender Pentastar badge look like they're in about the right spot in the pics above, compared to the car I have now.

The 440 MAGNUM badge on the fender looks to be too small for a power bulge hood badge to me. Looks good!

I have also seen one like this but it was on the door. But I dont remember the year and it did look out of place there.I have to admit I really like it on the fender stock or not.But that is what this is all about.Getting good input and information on these cars.

I really like it on the fender stock or not. stock as far I know and probably JUST to U codes. I have seen them on a survivor car at Carlisle. Pics are around. Is a triple black.

Can you think of any reason, Nacho, why both of my factory 440 magnum SE's didn't come with those on the fender (they both had the "Charger" script in the location shown, but no "440 magnum" badges). If they were "stock", then #rippedhand# ....not only once, but twice in 36 years!!

and if you look at dealership data book, NOT EVEN the CHARGER emblem is stated and all I have seen with the fender emblems are without pin strip on lower body line

I think someone, somewhere, at some time, put a set of PBH call-outs on their fender, and since then others are copying it...
And I've seen quite a few "survivor"/"untouched"/"original"/"barn-find" cars that have been "played with"....i.e. newer upgrades or repro add-on items added to it...
Don't get me wrong....they're our cars, we can do what we want to with them....that's always been my philosophy!!
Incidentally, the 3 Parts ID books/manuals I've checked so far list that 440 magnum badge as a "hood badge" or "hood emblem"... no mention of being applicable to the fender for ANY year.....YET!!
Still looking though....I do SO love a mystery!!
