I'm putting together a used console that I bought for my 74, that didn't have one, and I'm having trouble with the striker for the console door. The holes are too big for the only screw that I have left over. Should there be a plate or nuts on the other side? Or am I missing larger screws for it. Here is a photo of what I have left over.

The photo didn't work, maybe it was too big. I'll try again.

What photo site are you using to host your photos?

While not exactly the same shape, I'm sure you'll recognize this system from the console in a '77 Cordoba as being largely the same. They use the same push button release in the lid. As well they should...they are a '70s B-body. Those screws look like the one in your photo. This shot from the underside shows the backing plate for those screws to bite into. The photo is with the console removed, sitting upside down on the floor, with a flashlight on the plate. If you don't have an original, a couple of the "single thread" nuts, like the one in the lower left corner of the photo below, should do the trick.

Thanks so much. That's what I thought was missing.
