#DriveBurnout# Hey Guys. i was wondering if the charger roof emblems on a 72 Rallye are stud mounted are they stick on?Thanks Both are stud mounted... the arrow is a hard one to find. I found mine in an e-bay auction. They were actually on a full quarter that was for sale and I asked if they wanted to sell just the emblems. Seller said sure, $10.00. Got lucky on that one...

Hey Jer were can I get those roof Medalions??? I saw some on Ebay but the guy says they are all gone what to do now? Hey Doright, sorry it took so long...I've been a tad busy. #washwax# Try this link to Laysons...I ordered two from them, and they are actually pretty nice...the main difference between these repro's and the originals is the three colored inserts: the originals were grainy plastic inserts and the three colors on the repro's are painted metal. www.laysons.com/catalogindex.cfm?action=modifycart&nPartID_List=9799&quantity_9799=1Fill in the section at the left with "Charger" and "1972" then click "Emblems", then click "Misc Emblems" to get to the section that has the Charger Roof Sail Panel Emblem (the one that has "Charger" in the script writing) and the "SE Laurel Wreath Medallion". They are both 39.99, and unfortunately the price is for One Only....you'll have to order two of each for a full set. Tip: If you fill in the tri-color areas with clear acrylic enamel fingernail polish (a layer at a time) the end result is very close to the look of the originals...I tried it on a spare repro I had bought earlier on Ebay...with a little sunlight baking it might even turn yellowish like the originals!! ~Jer~

Hi folks,
I am back. I found that Mopar Performance offers the sail panel "Charger" emblems for the hardtop 1972 charger. I ordered two through Year One but they sent another part instead (part FD717). They are beautiful, but the studs on the back do not match any of the holes on my sail panels and the catalog says they are 68-70 emblems. The MP and Year One part number for the correct part is supposed to be P2841886 and they claim in the Mopar Performance catalog that it is for a 1966-74 Charger. I will call Year One and find out if what they sent me is correct or not. They sure are nice though!
I also looked at Layson's (see previous post) and found part number MR-04807, which is supposed to be the 1972 sail panel emblem. Unfortunately there is no picture......They also have the "DODGE" emblem for the trunk.

Hi folks,
I talked with a very helpful tech at Year One that explained that the part I got was the only available from them. The part they sent is the MP P2841886 but the FD717 is the same part. Bottom line, it doesn't fit the 1972 sail panels because the holes are in a different place. I have no idea if the emblem itself is the right size. So, I called Laysons today and ordered two of their sail panel emblems and I will see if they fit. The person at Laysons said the Chrysler part number for their emblem is 3504-807. I will let you know how things look!

As long as you fellas are at it, What are the correct emblems and placement for 73 and 74 Charger Rallye and coupe? Most have "Charger" in the side decal. Mine were stick ons and on the door. I dont remember exactly where as mine have been off since 1981. What gives?

rallye is a package not a model by itself, so you can get a hardtop rallye or coupe rallye. Even in some rare cases SEs with some Rallye features. Location of emblems on NON RALLYE packages is the same of the stripe cutout. I have seen some models without the arrow. Probably the models without the arrow are WL21 on VIN ( coupe ). Not sure thought. Out of topic P.S.: what would say hemihead about that

You basically have 3 choices here. #1 cut the studs off and glue them on, #2 cut studs off and try to relocate/solder them. #3 find used or NOS assembly line correct emblems. I assure you.... You won`t find these emblems at YR1, Laysons, Mopar Performance, etc etc etc. You MIGHT find them from a high line NOS parts dealer such as Frank Mitchell. If you do, they will be VERY expensive. (over $100 each)

More questions on the 74 emblems. On a 74 coupe, non-Ralleye, exactly where on the door do the emblems go? Mine did not have the arrow. Also, where does the "dodge" hood emblem go? Was there a dodge emblem on the bulge hood? I believe there was not, but just checking. Anyone have any pics? Thanks again.
