Well I guess I'll add mine...... '72 Charger, time slip would have to be what the amount of time it takes to get a fork lift under it, and take it down the track, it's on blocks right now. Engine, on the porch, tranny right beside the motor on the porch, rear end gears factory 3.23 open (but want be in the end). Tires, right now, might as well say none, lol. Weight, probably not much at all, nothing in it, just a bare body for the most part with no drive train..... Suspension right now factory, but want be staying that way. Other than this, don't know what else to say.... It's not much to talk about right now, about the same way as far as progress is going unfortanatly.

Sounds good "hotrodder" I think alot of these cars seem to be int he process of going rather then going. What are your plans for it in the future? Bigger engine hop up the old one or just a resto?

I'm hoping that one day.... I will be able to complete a restification. Factory, my car is a triple black with 400-4 auto with 8 3/4 3.23 open. Bucket int, A/C, power windows, power disc brakes, ect. I'm going to try and keep the int as lose to factory as I can, but I'm wanting to go with a little bit stronger power window motors. I will be putting a new black vinyl top on it, but instead of going with the basic black ext paint, I'm wanting to go with a House Of Kolors black with Ice Pearls, I also want to go with a nice set of chrome wheels, the size of them will depend on the brakes I end up using, but I do want to go with a front and rear multi piston disc brake setup, but the rear must still have a parking brake setup. I've already have the weld on sub frame connectors. I also have the rear leaf spring slider mounts, relocation kit, and then some. I do plan on running the Calverts split mono leafs and Cal Tracks setup. As for front suspension, I'm wanting to go all tubular. Main reason why is to try and help the ol' beast loose some weight (like I need to do too, lol). Motor, 440 based stroker, projected power est 650 hp and 650 ft/lbs torque. The 727 will be reused, but beefed up a lot. The 8 3/4 I'm planning on reusing the housing, but that's about it (lol). Axles will be replaced with Strange S/S axles, 3.91 with Detroit Locker, and of course a weld on axle housing brace. I've been thinking about running an aluminum third member carrier, but I will need more weight on the rear tires than anything, so I might go ahead and keep the iron third member. Tires, probably going to be a 28" tall, and at least 12" wide tread on the rear, front.... Can't remember what I decided for that... I'm wanting to tint the windows all the way around dark, add to it's (hopefully) mean look. The exhaust will be TTI 3" system with X pipe cross over, and probably Dynomax Ultra Flow's. As for tips, I want to keep the factory style tips that TTI also offers, but with the 3" inlet. I'm wanting to run the ISIS Performance wiring system, and move the battery to the trunk. All fuel and brake lines will be stainless steel, it's got to last after all, lol. And more, lol.
Now, had the original motor and tranny been in the car, then I would just do a complete resto, but since it's somewhere in the world.... The above idea is nice.
Question is, just how long will this build take in total, lol.

Well I just joined. Work was slow and I got my car running last night (left work early) after sitting a year and a half in my garage. I cry every time I look at it. Poor thing needs some road time.
1974 dodge charger se 383 with demon 4 barrel carb. 727 TF 3 speed 8 3/4 rear duel 3" exhaust that dumps under rear axle traded a 2001 saturn for this car off a marine in oceanside. awesome trade!!! Unfortunately I don't know much about what was done to it. I know the top end of the 383 was rebuilt with purple cams and the 727 was brand new. feels like it has a shift kit because it pulls good with each gear. His cousin built it for him so I didn't get much info on it. no carpet, old unused wires everywhere, vinyl top ripped off, suspension shot, fuel sending unit leaks, and an intermittent mild misfire that I could never find. but it stills runs strong, body is straight, no cancer, and pretty much all original minus engine and trans (was originally a 360 BB)
Recently I had a wild hair in my arse and been putting some work into it. so expect many questions from me in the future!!!!

Nice trade, I would say. Sounds like a decent car, with much potential. What ever questions you have, let us know. As for the misfire, could be any number of things.... Start another thread, if you have not yet, about your car, and go from there. Welcome to the board.

I'm having a problem with my 74 Charger...Traction, there is none! I've heard that these cars aren't good for traction but this car is ridiculous. I believe its just the tires(more like hoping) i'm putting on BF Goodrich T/A which are a nice tire or is going to be bad traction either way?
