Back in the day when I wanted to put 2 speakers in the rear of my Charger, I removed the rear blower from the speaker position and simply mounted it to the rear seat cross bars. I have seen 3rd gens that have both rear speakers but don't remember what they've done with the blower motor. Any one moved theirs and have any pictures? I thought they made some sort of adapter to move it elsewhere but naturally I'd never find one now. What has everyone else done?

On mine, the piece that goes in what now serves as a speaker hole was the air intake. The blower vent is a long, skinny rectangle in the middle. I remounted the intake to the cross bars behind the seat.

Yeah, that what I did as well. But I saw one (again, 35 years ago) that had been mounted under the speaker or next to it. Any one ever seen that?

Although this is from a C-body, I believe there is a similar adapter which was used in other models when both dual rear speakers and rear defogger options were ordered.

My SB has the radio cut outs and the rectangular slit as well. I'd like to find a defroster for mine as well. Didn't realize that it needed an adaptor.
I also found a 73 charger in a Junkyard not far from here that had rear defrost, but it wasn't the blower type like these. It was like modern cars, with the wires intergrated into the rear window. And that car was an option loaded 318 car. I don't mean to hijack, but was this a rare or rarer option than the blower type?

I have heard of third Gens with the electric grid type heated rear glass. I think I saw one for sale on eBay a few years ago also. I was under the impression that those were 74's. That style certainly would have to be more rare.

Yeah, that is similar to what I saw some years ago. I also saw a third gen with the rear defogger in the window. Yes, it was a 74 but I just assumed it was an aftermarket install. Because I would assume if you replace the window, you could get one with the "lines" in it, couldn't you?

it very well could have been a 74. I have issues telling the two apart. But yea, a friend was telling me that it was super rare like headlight washers, six way seats and a tilt column.
