Sorry, no updates...have not touched them. I really should....since it would be a good thing to turn those motors into cash. Bought a foot pedal kit for my blasting cabinet and have not finished installing it yet. Ironically, I think the foot pedal kit cost me more than the Harbor Freight cabinet.

Tom, any chance you have a motor for sale ? Sorry, Skip... I have accumulated a nice pile of cores but have not done anything with them. I had difficulties getting the limit switches adjusted right and moved on to bigger/better projects. Bob, the motors are best tested on a car. You can damage them if you test them off the car. Basically, you don't want the free spinning motor slamming into its ends of travel with no load. It can easily damage the plastic gear.

Thats what's wrong with the 2 I have. On one the large plastic gear broke in half. The other it's broken on the inside where the rod goes through it. I got both off of 2 very old 72's and the one that's split in half, was working somewhat. I had played around with the limiters but never seemed to be able to set it right. I thought I had because it was working fine for awhile. The doors were opening and closing normal for about 3 weeks. Recently I turned off the lights and heard the motor spinning open. So I disconnected it and began looking at it when I found the gear was in 2 pieces. Now my doors are wired open, not electrically, but with a piece of wire). (Laughing Out Loud)

Tom I found this. How accurate do you think it is?
d72hemi: What years ond models have the same (or will work) headlight motor as the 71 and 72 chargers? 71440charger: 71-72 but some other cars had thesame motor up to like 78 d72hemi: sweet! so I guess that all of the listings from 71-78 I shold be able to use? what about the 1970 ones? I found this listing of mopar headlight motors for sale, that are primarly C bodies any of these that I should stay away from (within the 71-78 time frame)?
