Get a lot of scrap metal and sheet metal. It takes awhile to learn but you will love it.

The best way is to find someone to get you started Another is for them to adjust the machine for you to know what sound to hear as you weld and size of the weld pudddle Also get a good helmet .... nothing worst then learning to weld with a cheap helmet think about one of the new instant darkness lenses

Dont Buy Argon.....Buy a Mig gas, its a mixture and is perfect four your needs.......Argon if your welding Stainless steel.....

OK...MiG gas it is...(I just read why)
Any brand suggestions on a decent helmet? Not looking to break the bank...but do want to protect my eyes.

I read...............that when welding steel
pure argon doesn't provide enough weld penetration and helium tends to cause excess spatter.
