You sure the whistling isn't coming from the intake (or even exhaust??) manifold...a blown head gasket would explain pressure loss (i.e. whistling) AND the green goop...maybe. Just throwin'' it out there into the brainstormin' mix.....

The only green stuff I know of is coolant! Are you using/losing any? I hope this was in reference to the exorsist! Yes I was.

Bob, still working on that Honey do list? Must be a long list. You have been working on it as long as I have known you. Myself.............I try to pace myself, so that new tasks are not placed on the list.

Since I'm the (self-appointed) Cook, Housekeeper/Housecleaner, and Vehicle Maintenance "staff", my Bride's "Honey do" utterances consist mostly of: " Honey, Do you know when you're leaving on your next Tour Across America trip?" (methinks that she looks forward to The Strong Arm Of The (neatness/tidiness) Law being gone for awhile !!)

a lot of carb whistleing noises are caused by the primarys being open a bit to far uncovering the air bleeds. have you tweeked the idle speed up or down lately?
