Brock, I am sure you are right. I was typing without thinking. After some additional thought....considering some of the contours and ridges on the pad, I realized that it would likely have to be vacuum formed. Guess I will just suck it up....and pony up for another new pad. ;D

Tom, my friend! We all know you for your exactitude Moulds (English spelling) wear. Production techniques cheapen. Quality control slacks up. What disappointed you before may again. Tell us! I remember touting PST until very recently. I had not bought much in a very long time - now customer service to our friends here has me thinking twice. Remember TRW of forged piston fame? That ship sailed before I began searching as far back as 1985.

Brock, my Ultimate Rides pad never had a chance to disappoint me. Jer simply wanted it more than I did....and a deal was made. At that time, I had already installed dash caps in my 2 cars and an extra uncracked original pad on hand....so dealing it off was not an issue. Later on, I also sold the uncracked original pad. Then 2 months later......bought the orange car, which needs a pad. So now I am back in the market for a repro pad....and trying to do my due diligence on what is available, to include the level of customer service by the manufacturer/distributor.

Tom and for those interested, I had a chat today with Mike fro BE&A. He had the pads and were the same as PG Classics. They do some projects together. He told me he does not sell the pads any more because they did NOT come out to his liking. The vinyl was an issues he said. He said PG still does but if you're looking for a quality one, he would recommend Just Dashes (but they are $700 to redo YOUR pad) or Carolina Dashes as you have in your link. He had several E body ones and they were nice from them ... he said. He did say if you want near perfect ... Just Dashes. Just FYI. I think I'm going to try Carolina when it comes time for me.

Well......I finally pulled the trigger and bought the pad from Carolina Super Dash. Guess it will be another 4-6 weeks until I get it. Then I can get busy doing my Rallye dash conversion at the same time. I finally got fed up looking at the cracked dash and standard instrument cluster.

Me and probably several others will be waiting for your opinion on what you get. Those repo pads seem to be gray area as far as what you get for your money.

Ordering mine from Carolina next week. I will let you know too. BTW, I have a friend who ordered a dash for his 71 RR and after 4 years it is all coming apart and lifting. He doesn't remember the name but it wasn't $450. You buy cheap ones and that is what you get. Do it right ... once.
