One thing I did notice Bob is that the Federal Mogul book is 76 and up. The one that I have is correct for our cars. I'm just sayin' You're right...I linked to the wrong one on the Imperial site, though it probably can't hurt to read both. www.imperialclub.com/Repair/Lit/Master/290/index.htm

Well, I have it all apart and cleaned up. That was pretty easy. Now to very carefully put it back together and do all my measurements. As far as the acc pump, should I lube the rubber boot with anything prior to install? Same with the rubber tips on the float valves, should they go in dry?

float needles usually go in dry, as for myself I use a bit of vaseline on the pump. has always worked great for me. I just use enough so the pump is never dry before it gets gas. tq's are not to hard to rebuild but can be a little touchy to set up and sometimes you just get a dud that never seems to run perfect. I love the howl when the secondary's open up!

That was to easy. If you can use a flat tip screwdriver you can rebuild a TQ. I found my original and redid that one. It took less cranks to start it dry than from the other one I had on it. The 2 o-rings that most people forget, I did not because of the Nacho threads about TQ's. They give you 10 times the parts because of the different TQ's out there. Best of all the kit was made in America. Everything was exactly as the old. I did not mess with the mechanical adjustments since most are done at the factory. It did not load up or backfire. I had the fire extinguisher ready just in case. Thanks for tips guys. $33.10 including tax Varoom varoom.

I guess I should give mine a try. I just wish I could make it look as nice as the rebuilt one I got.

I retract my last post. You think he's setting the bar a little too high there Bob?
