Well Rob, I'll tell ya. I know everyone says HF stuff is junk but I have never had an issue. Now having said that I don't have ANYTHING that is used in a job-like situation. They are occasional use and I mean occasional. I purchased a compressor about 5 years ago ... 2.5 Horsepower, 21 Gallon, 125 PSI which I don't use often but runs when I need it - period. Some tools, steering wheel puller and buffer for my son (which he does use often and works great) and various other things. My thought is if you are only going to use it once or not much, it is an inexpensive way to have the tool you need. If it breaks, throw it away and go get another. If you were like Tom and used them for work ... different story. I would get quality stuff. My 2 cents!

Hey odzking,
Yes definitely not for professional work. More for seeing how far I can progress my parts car back to life. I'm thinking it's in a lot better shape then I thought. Almost completely stripped so maybe now time to see about full resto.
I'd be using this stuff for just the one project. HF might be good for me to "cut my teeth on"... so to speak.
Thanks for the input.
-Rob

I love HF. I'm not a business so there tools are perfect for me. Most of them have a lifetime warranty. I can't see paying 100 bucks for a name brand when I can get it for 12 dollars. Have you been to one of there stores?
Like Odzking stated, "If you were like Tom and used them for work ... different story. I would get quality stuff."

I have that blaster and it works good, but you need a good size compressor to run it for more than 3 minutes at a time. I have the average 11 gal 125 psi compressor and it dosen't have the capacity to drive the sand blaster for more than a few minutes. I bought a saws all at HF and it vibrates so bad your hands tingle for and hour after making one cut. If I had to use it more than once a month I would throw it away and buy a real one. I have been fairley happy with all the tools I have bought at China freight, wait I mean Harbor Freight.

I buy stuff at HF from time to time. Over the last year I have purchased a small soda blaster, tool box, and tool cart. All worked out fine, with excellent bang for the buck. My next purchase will probably be another blasting cabinet. When it comes to stuff like the blaster..... I like to read the reviews and see what others have to say. Usually the complaints are consistent. Sometimes those reviews will suggest how to improve the product to a more acceptable level.

My latest HF purchase. My old blasting cabinet was an ALC, made in USA. Unfortunately, I can't say it was very good quality. Plastic body...and it leaked like a sieve. This HF unit is better made. However, I do know now that cheap units need improvements done to them when they are assembled. I'll be caulking all the seams as I assemble it, buying better gloves, and am prepared to upgrade the lighting if necessary. I might even splurge for a foot pedal. Now I can start restoring some of the headlight motor cores I have been collecting for the last year. www.harborfreight.com/garage-shop/abrasive-blasters/40-lb-capacity-floor-blast-cabinet-68893.html

Tom..I have the same cabinet but Blue........Its ok, but I MUCH prefer to blast parts outside .....yeah can't reuse sand , but can see parts way better and no size limitations...... I am actually going to list mine for $75 as it takes up to much room for something I don't use...... But having a huge compressor is key, and mine is awesome....can steadily blast for as long as the job takes....but I really only do small parts these days I also drove to Buffalo and bought one of these foldable trailers www.harborfreight.com/1195-lb-capacity-48-inch-x-96-inch-heavy-duty-foldable-utility-trailer-with-12-inch-wheels-90154.htmlIt was 50% 0ff......added plywood floor...16" sides and has been an AMAZING little trailer..its 4 x8 and I have overloaded it many times with gravel/dirt/and building debris...cant say enough about how good it has been...three years old now...total of around $250 invested

Looks like a nice piece Tom. I wish mine had legs that long. I'll have to build a stand to get it to a good working height....it's meant to be a bench-top model.

I blast some stuff outside.....like bumper brackets....not something I enjoy. I need to get a full suit and face mask for that... Getting all that trash in your hair, down your backside...not fun! The small stuff I prefer to do in the cabinet, using glass bead. There are certainly much better units out there....I just needed something for occasional use.
