Does anyone know what the difference between the driver mirror between these years is? And what is the difference between an E body and B body? I seem to have an incorrect mirror on the driver door. It will not adjust so I can see back, and seems as if it is not faced inward enough to do so. I purchased this from a fellow - Bennie Cass last year as an NOS. Beautiful mirror but now seems incorrect!!!

I'll chime in with what little I was told. E-body mirrors have different mounting holes in the bases. Are we talking about the sporty remote rallye mirrors or the plain jane round head mirrors?
Are you sure it's a driver's side? Would make sense it wouldn't adjust right if it were a passenger mirror.

Clearly seen in this pic. It is almost as if it is facing in too much. I can't adjust the mirror to the left enough to see back. I am wondering if I have a 71-2 mirror or E body mirror on a B body base?

It is definitely not E body or 71-72 B. The mounting screws on those are further inboard on the base.
Take the mounting screws back out and look for the mirror part number on the bottom side of the base. That should shed light as to whether it is correct or not.
Based on the mounting screw locations, it looks like 73-74 b body to me. I am not aware of any other Mopar mirror that looks the same, with the same screw locations.

I was told. E-body mirrors have different mounting holes in the bases. Patrick True for 73-74, not true for 71-72.

Bob, after re reading your post...I take it that you think that you might have a wrong mirror head, on the correct base. I think you might be onto something there.
Having never swapped parts like that, I don't know what the result would be. For that matter, it could possibly be a later head from the stuff like Cordobas, Magnum, Aspen, volare....etc etc. Those later donors would be more probable....because of their low value, even as NOS parts. Just to be clear as far as b/e body mirrors........
71-72 B/E body mirrors are the same, with the exception of the drivers side. The difference on the drivers side, is cable length, not anything physically different on the mirror itself. If I recall correctly....the e body cable is shorter....but I may have that backwards. The mounting holes for all of these mirrors is inboard on the base.
In 73, the B body mirrors changed. The visual giveaway being the screw holes were moved to the very outer edge of the bases. E body mirrors did not change in 73/74, they remained as they were in 71-72.

Do any of you know where I can find a passenger side 74 B body mirror for sale ? Doesn't matter if it's cable controlled or manual, just want it to look like the driver's side original.

There are a couple used ones on EBay but I just ordered one fron Dales Cuda shop for the driver side. New are in the 150 range but they have them as well.

I have a bunch of SE stuff from my '74 that I need to get around to advertising (or just take to Carlisle), including both mirrors. I'll try to take some pics if helpful.
