for those who don't know, Venezuela got a currency conversion 2 months and a hafl ago... simply dividing by 10000 the local currency to get a diff rate. This was made around 10 years ago too, dividing by 1000 the money
before 2008 we had the BOLIVAR ( Bs. abreviated )
on the first conversion made the name of the new currency was changed to BOLIVAR FUERTE ( Bs.F. ) what it means STRONG BOLIVAR.... yeeeeah, right!
anything priced 1000 Bs. got a new value of 1 Bs.F. Same poop just less zeros.
Last one, the Bs.F. ( declined with time to call it simply Bs. like the old one for simplicity ) is now since sept, being called BOLIVAR SOBERANO ( abreviated Bs.S )... which it means SOVEREIGN BOLIVAR.... ( this is a joke LOL ).
Conversion made is... anything priced at 10000 BS.F. ( which originally was 10000000 Bs. back in 2008 ) will be now 1 Bs.S.
well if the anual inflation we have at this moment is rated at 1300000%.... JUST THIS YEAR... try to calculate it with 2008
and thats what we get now.
a Pieze of bread when I arrived to Venezuela on Dec 4 was priced at 60-80 Bs.S Two days later increased to 160 Bs.S. Today at 250 Bs.S. which is the same than 25000000000 of the old Bs.
who says hyper inflation ?
