Well, today went to a supermarket close to home to buy some lemons and found it actually very well stocked. So decided to check some prices of what they have.

A 900 gr package ( around 31 oz ) of whole powered milk, with extra calcium and vitamins... 20K Bs

In black market exchange rate is around US$4.5

In "official" exchange rate is around US$28

Since the "official" exchange rate is really unobtainable, we all use the black market exchange rate anyway.

If we think this month it seems my income will be around US$50-60, maths are simple... can't spend US$4.5 on just 31 oz of powdered milk

Won't talk about rest of products.

Nah! I have Spanish Passport. I can enter in the States legally and stay there by 45 days as far I recall ( just as tourist ) without need for a Visa from the US embassy. Just need to fill a form to notice the US goverment.

In fact, Atlanta should be an easier entry door than Miami. Miami is full of "US wannabee citizens" ( read it as cubans what works for the inmigration authority at the airport ). Those are the worst of all! I have heard TERROR HISTORIES about them.

When I was there back in 2008, I felt comfortable with inmigration authorities in Houston airport although I was checked exhaustivelly and interrogated

yes Bob I remember that moment...wasn't exactly at the camp but driving allong the road through a pine forest between the camp and Carlisle show, with some houses around.

yes I can't believe that was 9 years ago... and I can't say how I'm feeling at this moment about my life status between those days and now.
