The last few items were hurriedly moved out, and the demolition work began on Tuesday. A few errors occurred here. They were not supposed to demo the drywall on the walls. By the time I saw it, it was too late. They also were not supposed to remove the 16' of workbenches, nor the 6-7' of desktop area. So those will have to be reconstructed somehow. The upside is the exterior walls (not shared with the house) were not insulated. I'm going to pay them to do that while they are in there. Also getting a little electrical work done, and having the exterior entry door replaced. I now have a new pile of things to go through again...the old cabinets, a few missed contents, and some other odds and ends. More curious smoke patterns, this time from a sheet of peg board sitting 1.5" off the wall. These were 4x8 sheets laid on their side, so 4' up from the workbench surface. Curious how the smoke pushed it's way through the first 5-10 rows of holes, then swept downward.

Not many updates of late. Floor steam cleaned, scrubbed, and vacuumed. It's now fully insulated (no pictures) and we now have drywall up (no mud and tape yet). I'm excited about the insulation. Before I have 90% of the ceiling space between joists poorly insulated, a few not insulated at all. On the shared wall with the house had insulation. Now I have full insulation on all walls, and in the ceiling. I'm going to pay to have a second layer blown into the attic. Between those things and a new insulated door, it should stay a lot warmer in there in the winter. Looking forward to that. Next will be drywall mud, install the service (man) door, then prime and paint. The electrician can come back and finish after that, then the overhead door. They will have to rebuild my benches, wall systems of shelves and pegboards, wire racks, clean the safe, book cabinet, and window. THEN all of my "stuff" can be returned. Long way to go yet.

Ha! I wish. Those will be for the back garage, if at all.
With my commitment to myself to A) never store thing in this attached garage attic again, and B) to keep the bay that was stacked with car parts open for my wife to park in, I have some SERIOUS new space issues to contend with. Honestly, I don't know how I'm going to make it all work just yet. There will be a little less "stuff", as they took away several truck fulls to the dump. But it's still going to be an issue.
A decent sized flat screen was always in the plans for the back garage. Bar, maybe not so much.

Yes, I still have my college fridge, and my sons. Who knows, I may end up with my daughters too!
One for Guiness, one for the beer de jour, and one for soda.
