1 USD was around 1.5 Swiss Francs at that Time. Now its more or less equal.
Wat means "regular"? is that the fuel with the lowest Octane number available?

It keeps dropping. We may see $1 a gallon again before it's over. This is KILLING domestic production.
Yes, here in the States, "regular" is the lowest octane, with 87 (on average). Most places you go will have 3 grades, regular, mid-grade, and premium. Mid-grade is usually about 89 (what leaded regular was c1980), and premium varies the most, between 90-93. These will all be blended with 10% ethanol.
Some stations, like my local Kroger, offer an ethanol-free fuel. In the case of my local Kroger, that fuel is 90 octane, and that's what I use in my Trans Am, and all of my yard equipment.

it's crazy how quick the gas Prices are dropping. i never tought that the Price going so low ever again and keeps going. the Octane ratings between europe und the us are not direct comparable as far as i know. so thats why we have higher Ratings. But "normal/regular" 91octane disappeared here Long time ago. DynoDave: Then your TransAm is your Daily Driver? what Year?

No, I bought the Trans Am to have something to enjoy NOW. The Charger, Duster and Cordoba are all projects.

We're about back in the good old days. Paid $1.09 at Meijer with the .10 Meijer card discount. Except you can't drive anywhere you want and have fun.

Thank you commodore. I think all four generations of Trans Am have aged pretty well, particularly the 3rd gens. And it allowed me to get out with the kids to some local events before they moved on to college. For the top-end models, IROC-Zs, Trans Am GTAs the values have been going up for sure, especially the super low mile cars that go to auction. The rest are still good values. I'd have loved to have bought a finished 3rd gen Charger, but I paid a little under $8k for this car...a 50k mile one owner, full loaded, t-top Trans Am with WS6 suspension. I couldn't pass that up. With one year only red wheels, one of 611. I couldn't begin to touch a Charger in that shape for that money. So I got my turn-key cruiser, and can focus "most" of my meager energies on my Mopars (Charger, Duster/Cordoba).

Old guy here. I remember my father paying .17 a gallon several times during a gas war between some small local gas stations. I bought my 1973 Charger SE in San Diego, CA early June of 1979. I drove it home in 1980 before cruising the Pacific Ocean for 9 months and I bought leaded regular gas for .65 a gallon and it was 94 octane. My HP 400 LOVED it.
(How do insert my list of vehicles) computer dummy here.

Go into your profile (top of this page) and then out to the right it will say something like "edit profile"
After that, one of the tabs will say Personal... click that tab
Scroll down and type what you want in the "signature" box
Scroll down a little more and click "save personal settings"
