Just curious, how well does it fit top center where the speaker/defrost vent panel sits? And does it cover/hide the edgesof the new cap?

The good news is that B/E/A is releasing 71-74 b body reproduction dash pads within the next few weeks. Repro pads on steel cores. $345, no core deposit.
I have installed dash caps on both of my cars. One I did in the car, the other I did in my garage. On both, I had fitment issues around the speaker grille and main vent. I accept it (the cap) as an inexpensive cosmetic enhancement. However, I will likely pull both dashes back out and put repro pads in them.

while the cap looks nice, I think I will go for the "repair and paint" method......if nothing else the fumes will give me a couple flashbacks......(rolling on the floor, laughing).

ok, if you would be so kind as to post some pics....(laughing out loud) when you get it installed and whatnot, as I would like to see how it looks. granted I am going for more a custom type interior, the dash pad will most likely stay somewhat original style, and I will just have to get artsy and creative to make the rest what I want.

I just installed my dash cap, it looks good but im not overly happy with it. I glued it down and it holds fine, looks a lot better then then all the cracks but my issues are these: The plastic insert that has the vents in it, DOES NOT FIT!!!!! i tried shaving it down and everything. I had to squeeze it in and use some wall screws that were a bit longer then stock screws. Second issue i have is the lengh of the dash cap up top, almost started to cover my VIN tag..... Had a few spots that wouldnt fit snug to the original dash pad.
It looks good now but i dont know if my vent tube will be able to fit up to it. I'll post some pictures of it this weekend.
