to keep board order, quoting from pics thread
does look is the same cam I picked up to my 400... MP 4452993 ... will go with 166K MP TC and some slight porting and milling 452 heads, KB240 pistons what I can get me up to 10:1 CR ( probably will go with 9.5 or 9.8: 1 ) depeding on mill down job. will change from 3.23 open to 3.55 SG. Metallic headgasket.
rest stock
Also using Mopar rings listed on Moparts to 440 020 bore, what is supposelly the same than 400 standart bore, assuming they are Moly for just $50...
If wasn't because there is not MP pistons to 400, I could keep my car totally Mopar
so does look I'm not doing it that wrong like somebody was saying on DC.com
I didn't get what you talked abou the "3 angled value job"... what it is that ? I still didn't start any head job jet, however I thinking on some light job, not really deep since I'm trying to make it by myself if I find I can do it
The engine is a 1970 383 bored 20 over, flat top pistons ( I think there sealpro's) cast rings,I think its around 9 to 1 compression.double roller timing chain, steel crank, standard rods, cam is 238 duration with 474 lift and 110 center line. The heads are off my 1969 hp 383 block (I think there 906 castings) 3 angle value job with harden seats, and mild porting, New dual plane M1 mopar manifold, topped with a holley 4160 ( i thinks its a 625 or 650 cfm)tranny is the mate to the 69 hp block, full rebuilt with stock torque converter, rear is a open 2.76 but looking to switch it to a 3.23 0r 3.55 sure grip The engine was built by a bracket racer friend who also had a speed/engine shop here in town. I pulled my hair out trying to fine what was the best combo and ended up telling Dave to build it the way he would think I would what it. Runs great on regular pump gas with plenty of power off the line and at top end. Before hitting the deer, I it over 132mph and it still wanted to go more but my n-ts turn to the size of raisins
