Hello everyone, I think this is my first post to this forum even though I've been a member for a few weeks. I have a '73 Charger with a 318, 1 bbl carb. Every time I push down the gas pedal the car dies out on me or almost does. I'm guessing this is a carb issue? I'm thinking of upgrading to a 2 bbl carb and want to keep my car as stock as possible. Any ideas on what kind of carb to get?
Cheers

That is a 2 bbl. Unless it has been changed, in all likely hood a Carter. Most likely 6317s unless its a 4 speed. Then 6316s. Did you try adjusting it? Usually one side is way too rich or way too lean.

Welcome aboard! #WaveHi# Every time I push down the gas pedal the car dies out on me or almost does. That's a classic symptom of a failed accelerator pump. Rebuild, or buy a reman.
