The location of our fuel fill door behind the license plate can sometimes be a nuisance. Has anyone considered replacing the fuel tank with a left side outlet tank, i.e. Challenger, and locating the fuel fill door in the left quarter panel? Issues? Problems?

Ha, I was thinking the other day I wish ALL had it in the rear under the plate, as I was turning my car around at the gas station because I was on the wrong side. What a pain, not to mention always spilling fuel down the side of the car.

May not be so hot in a serious rear end accident, but sure is handy at the station. Plus, no filler door breaking up those long, smooth quarter panels.

When I pull into my favorite Shell station I have to go so far forward that people have to wait untill I'm done before they can go around.

with DynoDave - The quarters are works of art. I was just curious as to whether anyone had attempted such a modification.

Of all the mods that I have seen on a 3rd Gen...I don't believe I have eve noticed a fuel filler relocation. I did find a second Gen Charger flip top gas lid and bezel on a mid 70's Dodge Van once.....at a JY. The funny thing is that I did not realize what it was off immediately! I knew it was off a Mopar muscle car....but could not figure out which one. But I bought it anyway...and resold it for a nice profit once I had figured out what it was for.
